1. Enter the Building Name, BIN and EER values, Year Completed, Gross Floor Area, and Location as defined below:

Building Name – The building name will act as an identifier that will appear on other pages in your project, and on the audit report. The name should help identify the premises, and may be the name of a single building, a building complex, or other space within a property.

BIN – Unique 7-digit Building Identification Number (BIN) assigned by New York City Department of City Planning.

EER – The Energy Efficiency Report (EER) submission designation refers to whether or not the audit report includes information for more than one building, if those buildings are served by a shared base building system (HVAC, domestic hot water, or lighting systems). Buildings that do not share base building systems with another building are required to be covered by a separate EER. (Source: 'How to File an Energy Efficiency Report' document available at https://www1.nyc.gov/site/buildings/business/energy-audits-and-retro-commissioning.page).

Enter a different letter (A, B, C, etc.) for every building served by its own respective base building systems. Enter the same letter for a group of buildings served by the same base building systems if more than one EER are being submitted for this BBL. Example: If there are five buildings on one BBL, and a group of three buildings are served by the same base building systems while the other two buildings are each served by their own respective base building systems, there would be three EERs identified on the building Information Numbers screen of the BBL Property page.

Report Type – New York City Report will automatically be displayed to indicate New York City as the jurisdiction that will be receiving the audit report. All reports are generated based on ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 211, Standard for Commercial Building Energy Audits. Additional data input fields are included for the New York City Report based on Local Law 87 (LL87) requirements.

Year Completed – Year in which building construction was completed.

Gross Floor Area – The sum of the floor areas of all the spaces within the building with no deductions for floor penetrations other than atria. It is measured from the exterior faces of exterior walls or from the centerline of walls separating buildings but it excludes covered walkways, open roofed-over areas, porches and similar spaces, pipe trenches, exterior terraces or steps, roof overhangs, parking garages, surface parking, and similar features (source = ASHRAE Terminology). Note: the value entered here will be used to auto-populate the Gross Floor Area field of the Building Characteristics screen later in the data entry process.

Location – Address of the physical location of the reported premise. The address should represent a complete street address, including street number, street name, prefixes, suffixes, modifiers, and unit number. The complete address will be displayed on the audit report for documentation.

Note – Add notes to your audit report file for future reference. Content may be viewed and/or edited online from the Building Information page when editing a building, but will not appear on the audit report.
