A limited number of use types are permitted for mixed-use buildings, depending on the assigned use type area and the total building gross floor area (GFA). Up to five use types may be selected for large buildings, and each use type must sum to at least 5% of the GFA.

Note: Creating separate blocks for building use types occupying a minimal percentage of the total building GFA may have little impact on the overall building energy use and score. It is recommended that these blocks be assigned to the predominant building use type.
