If selecting the Prescriptive Pathway for District of Columbia (DC) Department of Energy and Environment Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) Compliance, owners must conduct an Energy Audit in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 211-2018 Level 2 and submit a DC BEPS Energy Audit Report during Pathway Selection. The Audit Template feature of the web-based Building Energy Asset Score is the required platform for the DC BEPS Energy Audit Report to collect, store, and report building energy audit data. Additionally, DC buildings on any compliance pathway may use the Audit Template tool as a recommended best-practice guide and repository for Level 2 audits.

After entering building audit data into the tool, users may generate a PDF audit report that lists the data entered and calculated tables and charts outlining the building energy use by energy type and end use, and the cost and payback of energy saving opportunities. The audit data will also be available to download in CSV or XML file formats by the user. When the report is submitted to the City, city officials who have been granted City Access will also be able to download these reports and any attachments. In this case, the city officials are DOEE staff members that will be reviewing the report for compliance.
