Measure Recommendation Engine

Modified on Tue, 22 Sep at 8:29 AM

Asset Score's recommendation engine identifies retrofit measures that are applicable to your building and estimates the indicative energy savings you could achieve by implementing them. Measure applicability is based on a mix of advanced energy retrofit guides, design guides, and engineering judgement.

How it works

  1. Enter your building's assets. As you enter your building's assets and lay out its design in the tool, the recommendation engine evaluates your building's existing characteristics, such as its envelope, mechanical systems, lighting, and water heating equipment.

  2. Select retrofit measures. When you select the Prepare Submission button, the "Select Retrofit Measures for Submission" screen displays the retrofit measures the engine has identified as applicable to your building, organized by category (Envelope, Heating & Cooling, Lighting, Water Heaters). Only measures relevant to your building's current characteristics are shown — for example, a measure to replace a boiler won't apply if your HVAC does not utilize a boiler or if your boiler has recently been replaced or already high performance. Select a measure to view more information about it, including a description of what the measure involves and factors that affect its performance. Choose which of the applicable measures you'd like to include, then select Submit Building.

  3. Receive your results. Once your building has been submitted, you'll receive an email notification when your results are ready. Your results will show your building's current site energy use intensity (EUI) alongside a proposed site EUI, calculated using the retrofit measures you selected — giving you an indicative estimate of the energy savings those measures could provide.
