Enter values in this section for the percentage that the building is owned or leased.  Selected City Reports may include an input for multi-tenant designation.

The percentage of a building that is owned vs. leased may affect who pays the energy utility bills and how accessible they are. And the presence of multiple tenants may affect how the utility data is gathered. For example, according to ASHRAE:

When the tenant/occupant spaces in a multi-tenanted (rental tenant, cooperative, or condo unit) building are individually metered, rather than master metered, random sampling procedure shall be applied.  The owner shall obtain representative occupant unit meter data for each energy type for a minimum of spaces representing each space type in the building.

When an owner obtains representative billing or meter data for a given energy type, the auditor may extrapolate such information for the building as the actual energy data for the whole building.
