Total System Performance Ratio (TSPR) is a performance-based compliance path for HVAC systems which is defined as the ratio of the sum of a building’s annual heating and cooling load in thousands of Btus to the sum of the annual carbon emissions in pounds from energy consumption of the building HVAC systems.

Asset Score includes an evaluation of a building’s whole building HVAC system TSPR, which is provided in the systems evaluation portion of the asset score report based on the characteristics of a baseline system using standard defaults for input fields that are normally hidden from view.   A ‘Good’, ‘Fair’, ‘Superior’ ranking is displayed that reflects the TSPR based on these baseline results and national average energy costs.  A notice is displayed on the pdf report that the ‘System evaluation is not based on a verified TSPR’.

Verified Total HVAC System Performance Ratio

Users have the option to edit the hidden inputs to refine the actual components of the building to generate a more accurate TSPR.  To do so, check the ‘Generate a verified Total HVAC System Performance Ratio’ box when adding a new building, or clicking on the blue Settings button to display building options while editing a building.

Checking this box will make available a set of advanced system parameter inputs (listed below) that use standard assumptions in the Asset Score model. These inputs will be identified as 'Required’ and will need to be entered before score the building.  A notice will be displayed on the pdf report that the ‘System evaluation is based on a verified TSPR’.

Note:  you may select/unselect ‘Verified TSPR’ at any point of time.  However, all advanced system parameter inputs entered will be lost, and all values will return to their default setting if this option is unchecked.
