An audit report is available to download in PDF, XML, or CSV/XLSX file formats by the user and by city officials who have been granted City Access to submitted reports associated with the selected report type. Audit reports may be downloaded by the user at any time during and after the data entry process.  Audit reports may be downloaded by city officials after they have been submitted by the user.

PDF reports:  Lists all of the building audit data and notes entered into the Audit Template and includes calculated tables and charts outlining the building energy use by energy type and end use, and the cost and payback of energy saving opportunities.  Reports downloaded prior to submission will be identified as ‘In Progress’ in the Report Status field listed on the top right of page one. Reports downloaded after submission will be identified as ‘Submitted’.

XML report files:  Follow the format of BuildingSync® XML developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory. BuildingSync® is a standardized language for commercial building energy audit data that software developers may use to exchange data between audit tools. For more information on BuildingSync, visit https://buildingsync.net, which includes a data dictionary, example files, and an implementation guide (see https://buildingsync.net/documents/).

XML files may be exported from the Audit Template for use with other energy auditing software that supports BuildingSync®.  XML files generated from the Audit Template or other software may also be copied and edited, and used to import import into the Audit Template to create a new audit report.

CSV/XLSX report files:  Includes all of the building audit data and notes entered into the Audit Template, and may be viewed in a spreadsheet or database.  The original .csv file format has limits to the amount of lighting fixtures, HVAC systems, and energy efficiency measures and packages that could be displayed.  Newly available (2022) .xlsx files for download contain formatted section and group column headings for ease of viewing. New .csv files include the same columns and inputs as the .xlsx files but without formatting.   These 'new' formatted spreadsheet files are available for completed and submitted building audit reports when they are open by selecting the yellow Download button and selecting either the ‘New CSV’ or the XLSX option.  See Exporting Audit Report Buildings to Spreadsheets for additional details.
